From Empty to Extraordinary: Marisa Salas & Showhomes Featured in the Miami Herald
At Showhomes, we know that when a luxury home sits empty, even the most breathtaking architecture can feel cold to prospective buyers. That is why we were thrilled to be featured in the Miami Herald, spotlighting how strategic luxury staging transforms high-end South Florida properties into warm, desirable homes that sell.
The Challenge: A $16 Million Pinecrest Mansion Sitting Empty
The feature focuses on an expansive, newly built estate, 6290 Chapman Field Drive, found in the sought-after neighborhood of Pinecrest. Built by local developer Fouad Kraishan and listed just above $16 million, the 11,670-square-foot property boasts massive windows, soaring ceilings, and an open floor plan that brings the outdoors into every room.
Yet, despite its scale and grandeur, the home sat on the market for several months without receiving offers. As Marisa Salas, owner of Showhomes South Florida, explained to the Miami Herald:
“Empty rooms and blank walls, especially in a large home, often leave buyers overwhelmed, wondering how they’ll fill the space and struggling to visualize living there.”
Without defined living areas and warm spaces, buyers couldn’t connect with the sheer magnitude of the estate.
The Transformation: Defining Space & Warmth
Within just a few weeks of stepping in, Marisa and her team completely transformed this luxurious residence,, giving every room a clear purpose and an inviting lifestyle narrative:
● The Foyer & Entryway: To soften the high ceilings, we staged the entryway with two curved, ivory couches facing each other across a styled coffee table topped with design books and fresh greenery.
● The Dining Room: A light wood table paired with velvety, chocolate-brown chairs brought texture, rich contrast, and rich elegance to the space.
● The Kitchen: Adding subtle touches, like bottles of fine olive oil and artisan jars of pasta, created an authentic, high-end “lived-in” feel.
Staging brought to life every high-end detail that Fouad Kraishan had hand-selected. Gone were the days of buyers walking into the blank canvas, feeling immediately overwhelmed. They were now walking into the home of their dreams…finally feeling complete.
A Rising Demand for Luxury Staging in Miami
Since Marisa began staging homes in 2009, the Showhomes Premier franchise has grown year over year. Since 2019, aligned with Miami’s booming luxury real estate market, demand for staging has surged– and so has the value of the properties they stage.
● The average value of homes staged by Showhomes Premier has more than doubled, jumping from $2.5 million in 2019 to over $6 million today. ● To keep pace with this rapid growth, Marisa is upgrading to a larger warehouse facility to house her vast, expanding inventory of luxury furniture, lighting, artwork, and decor.
Whether it’s an $16M modern mansion in Pinecrest or an award-winning historic restoration in Coral Gables, our mission remains the same: transforming empty square footage into unforgettable spatial experiences.
